Event Description

Join the Bradbury Science Museum for ooey, gooey, explosive fun from afar.

If you attended High-Tech Halloween last year, you may remember the Museum’s final demonstration of the night, “Exploding Pumpkins.” For the first time ever, Museum staff worked with Lab chemists Jackie Veauthier, Dali Yang and Donivan Porterfield to create this fun-tastic, colorful chemical reaction outside the Museum, in the Bradbury’s front parking lot. With hundreds of onlookers watching from a safe distance, Donivan and crew set off the chemical reaction and a vibrant eruption of foamy goo spewed from the demo’s six pumpkins. A few hours and hundreds of gallons of multi-colored froth later, we decided that this demonstration would be just the first of many to come.

This year, the Bradbury is getting the band back together for another incredibly messy outdoor demonstration, which will live-stream via WebEx Events on Friday, October 30 at 5:30 p.m. While details are being held tightly under wraps for the moment, more information will be released in the weeks to come.

Date: October 30
Time: 5:30 p.m.

Be sure to check the Bradbury’s website and social media for the latest updates.
