Greenhouse Gas Reduction

Los Alamos National Laboratory strives to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to meet and surpass Department of Energy goals.

The Laboratory’s goal is to reduce emissions from energy use in our facilities and driving vehicles in our fleet by 50 percent, and to reduce our indirect emissions by 25 percent.

The Laboratory plans to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by replacing the central steam plant with a new, more energy efficient, combined-heat and power plant.

Soft Skills for STEM (S3TEM) instills students with knowledge, understanding and skills that will improve their interactions in ever-changing learning institutions, workforce and society by sponsoring:

  • monthly interactive webinars about specific soft skills
  • annual Lessons Learn Conference providing various opportunities to share experiences and personal and professional skill development
  • eighteen-month Leadership Institute that will provide mentoring, coaching, training and various individual and small group learning experiences
