Los Alamos Lab and University of Michigan unite for innovative, mission-driven science

LANL Michigan SPARC fosters pioneering research collaborations between Los Alamos National Laboratory and University of Michigan scientists. This joint-research environment enables revolutionary advances in science, engineering, and national security.  The Michigan SPARC is located on the University of Michigan campus in Ann Arbor and co-locates LANL scientists with U-M faculty and students to enable unique breakthroughs.

What we do

SPARC includes a broad scope of LANL and University of Michigan research. The collaboration advances areas of high-energy-density physics, fundamental physics modeling, high-performance computing, co-design, AI, and more.
