October 11-12: Taos Storytelling Festival
The Taos Storytelling Festival offers a range of workshops and events, concluding with a finale at the Taos Community Auditorium. 

October 12: Pottery exhibition opening ceremony
Come celebrate the new exhibition and research space at the Poeh Cultural Center in Pojoaque dedicated to the display of 100 pots of Tewa origin that are returning from the Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian under a co-stewardship agreement. 

October 18: Introduction to the Chamber
Get an overview of the Santa Fe Chamber of Commerce and the benefits of membership at this free fast-paced lunch meeting. Registration required. 

October 21: Science on Tap: Mark Boslough
Join Laboratory researcher Mark Boslough at UnQuarked in Los Alamos as he discusses the Taurids meteor showers in this relaxed, all-ages event.

October 23: IAIA Open House
The Institute of American Indian Arts hosts its annual Open House with exhibitions and demonstrations of all types throughout the campus, with open studios and classrooms, including screenings of 360º spherical films in the Digital Dome. 

October 25-26: Los Alamos Halloweekend
The Secret City gets spooky for the weekend with a range of activities including Trick-or-Treat on Mainstreet, High-Tech Halloween at the Bradbury Science Museum, a pumpkin glow and a world-record pumpkin carving attempt.

October 26: FAFSA Rodeo
If you’re heading to college next year, and need help with paying for it, head to the Santa Fe Higher Education Center for help with completing the FAFSA application, information on applying for scholarships, and a chance to meet representatives from a range of colleges and universities.
