This month, the Laboratory introduces its “Season of Giving,” which will run through the end of the year. October will see the start of the Lab’s annual employee-giving campaign, November will feature a food drive, and December will highlight a holiday gift collection. The Wreaths Across America program has already begun accepting sponsorships, and that effort will run through December when the wreaths are placed on veterans' graves at Santa Fe National Cemetery.

This year’s employee giving campaign will run from October 15 to November 15 with special events for employees, division champions, and managers. It should be an exciting campaign.

For the November food drive, which will run from November 5 to 20, employees and others are encouraged to make a monetary donation, contribute non-perishable food items, or donate a frozen turkey to complete holiday meals for families in our communities.

The Laboratory’s annual holiday gift drive will run from December 3 to 19. Employees can spread smiles and joy in our communities this holiday season by donating a wrapped gift chosen for a child or deserving senior citizen.

Wreaths Across America seeks to place wreaths of remembrance on veterans' grave markers. SOC-Los Alamos, the Lab's protective-force contractor, heads this effort, with support from Los Alamos National Security. The organization is already selling sponsorships for wreaths and will continue to do so through November 20. The wreaths will be placed on December 15 in Santa Fe.

If you would like to be a sponsor, wreaths are $15 each. Specific graves to be decorated cannot be requested, and you can make checks payable to “Wreaths Across America” and send it to SOC Los Alamos/LANS Program, P.O. Box 4886, Fairview, NM 87533.
