Pink Skies coming to Northern New Mexico October 15-16
In recognition of National Breast Cancer Awareness month, the Lab and Los Alamos National Security, LLC are partnering with Los Alamos Public Schools and Northern New Mexico College to bring Pink Skies to the region. This award-winning documentary follows a breast-cancer survivor participating in a record, multi-national, all-woman “Jump for the Cause” skydiving event. It also covers the topic of cancer prevention.
Two public showings of the documentary provide a unique opportunity to not only view the film, but to also hear from its creators and contributors, including locals such as Gulcin Gilbert (the movie’s producer and director who was raised in Northern New Mexico) and Matt and Emily Romero from Romero Farms in Dixon. Two additional shows will take place for high school students in Espanola and Los Alamos.
The public showings will be:
Monday, October 15, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Nick L. Salazar Center for the Fine Arts at Northern New Mexico College, Espanola
Tuesday, October 16, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Duane W. Smith Auditorium, Los Alamos High School, Los Alamos
