Ancient Galactic Magnetic Fields Stronger than Expected
Mining the far reaches of the universe for clues about its past, a team of scientists including Philipp Kronberg of the Laboratory has proposed that magnetic fields of ancient galaxies like ours were just as strong as those existing today, prompting a rethinking of how our galaxy and others may have formed.

Builders Place Final Beam in First Phase of CMRR Project
Workers hoisted the final steel beam atop the skeleton of what will be the Radiological Laboratory Utility Office Building at the Laboratory Tuesday morning, marking a milestone for the first of three phases in the multiyear Chemistry and Metallurgy Research Replacement Project (CMRR).
