Since 2006, LANS has invested $28 million in the following areas:
- $8.6 million for economic development programs that support and grow small businesses in northern New Mexico
- $10.7 million in support of pre-kindergarten through college STEM education programs and a strong workforce pipeline for the Laboratory and northern New Mexico
- $8.5 million supporting employee giving
Breakthrough Los Alamos software is available for licensing

Thanks to the new technology, laptop computers can analyze DNA sequences faster than current DNA sequencers create them.
