The students and coach worked diligently to prepare for the competition where they competed against 28 other state teams.

Each year students from throughout New Mexico meet in Albuquerque to test their knowledge on a wide range of technical topics at the Department of Energy’s New Mexico Science Bowl. This year the state High School Science Bowl included 28 teams representing 14 high schools.

The Los Alamos High School team won the New Mexico event and advances to the National Science Bowl competition in Washington, D.C. A team from Albuquerque Academy placed second.

On March 2, regional middle school students compete for the title of first place at the Department of Energy’s New Mexico Middle School Science Bowl, also in Albuquerque.
