Goal 2: Greening Transportation

LANL supports and encourages employees to reduce their personal greenhouse gas emissions by offering various commuting and work schedule options. Our goal is to reduce emissions related to employee travel and commuting to and from work by 13 percent.

Early sustainable practices: Congressman Manual Lujan, Jr. takes a spin on one of several bicycles used for quick transportation in the accelerator tunnel while LAMPF was under construction.

The transit station near TA-03 has a constant stream of buses picking up and dropping off riders, demonstrating LANL workers’ commitment to energy-efficient transportation.

The LANL Site Car Program provides government vehicles to employees through a unique pooling system that shares underutilized vehicles.
