How postdoc salaries are determined
Annual starting salaries - Postdoctoral Fellows (Agnew, Director's, Entrepreneurial, Metropolis) and Postdoctoral Research Associates
Competitive salaries are based on the date the PhD degree requirements were completed or the degree was awarded. On the anniversary of these dates, salaries are automatically adjusted to the next higher level. In addition, the guidelines are reviewed annually for possible adjustments. Starting salaries may vary from the guidelines up to a maximum of 25% due to market conditions, competitive offers, etc. If a salary other than the guidelines is being requested, a justification memo is prepared and submitted to management for approval. The memo must clearly explain the reasons for the request for a higher salary.
| Level | Guideline |
|---|---|
| PhD + 0 | $72,200 |
| PhD + 1 | $74,000 |
| PhD + 2 | $75,900 |
| PhD + 3 | $77,800 |
| PhD + 4 | $79,800 |
| PhD + 5 | $81,900 |
| PhD + 6 | $83,900 |
